Itinerary

Day 1 - Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate

Your journey commences from Marrakech after breakfast, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. The scenic drive takes you through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, ascending to an altitude of 2260 meters amidst an ever evolving landscape of small villages and natural waterfalls. A refreshing stop at for mint tea allows you to absorb the magnificent scenery before continuing to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Arriving in time for lunch and to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for being the backdrop of numerous films, including "Gladiator" and "Lawrence of Arabia." In the afternoon, you will proceed to Ouarzazate, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 2 - Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Todra Gorge

Following breakfast, embark on a brief tour of Ouarzazate. This includes a visit to the historic Kasbah of Taourirt and the renowned Atlas Studios, recognized as the largest and most famous movie studios in Africa. Your route then takes you through the enchanting Valley of Roses, celebrated for its fragrant rose fields, and into the Dades Valley. You will reach the impressive Dades Gorge by lunchtime. The journey heads towards Todra, where you will arrive before sunset. Dinner and your overnight stay will be in a charming traditional Kasbah.

Day 3 - Todra Gorge - Rissani - Merzouga

Begin your day with a leisurely morning walk through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where you can admire the towering rock formations. After lunch, the drive continues along the scenic "Road of 1000 Kasbahs," passing through Tinghir and the historic Jewish Kasbah. You'll then proceed through Erfoud, arriving in Merzouga before sunset. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a hotel situated at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes, offering spectacular views.

Day 4 - Merzouga - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Midelt

After breakfast and a chance to relax, embark on an exploration of the desert landscapes. This includes black volcanic rocks of the dunes and visits to small villages. A highlight will be a stop in El Khamlia to experience captivating Saharan music. You will also visit the serene Merzouga lake and its lush oasis. Day 5 - Midelt - Middle Atlas - Ifrane - Fez

Your final day of discovery begins with departure from Midelt in the morning. The journey takes you through the picturesque landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. As you ascend, you'll traverse dense cedar forests, a natural habitat for Barbary macaques. A notable stop will be in Ifrane, a unique town that was meticulously designed by the French in the 1930s to evoke a Swiss village, offering a striking contrast to traditional Moroccan architecture. After soaking in the atmosphere of Ifrane, your desert adventure concludes upon arrival in the imperial city of Fez in the afternoon.
