Itinerary
After breakfast, you will embark on a guided tour of the Fez medina, recognized as one of the world's largest walled cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will delve into its narrow streets, bustling with fresh produce, aromatic mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and countless other exquisite objects of Morocco. Your tour will include visits to significant mosques, such as the historic Quaraouiyine Mosque (founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri) and the Andalusian Mosque (dating back to 860). You will discover beautiful fountains, including the Nejjarine fountain, and explore ancient Medersas (Koranic schools), some established as early as the 13th century. The Batha Palace, now a museum of arts and traditions, the vibrant Chouwara Tanneries, and bustling souks like Souk Attarine, one of the city's liveliest. We will then pass by Bab Boujloud with its distinctive ceramics, explore the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and the 17th-century Ibn Danan synagogue, and view the King's Palace from outside. In the afternoon, you will ascend to Borj North or South to enjoy panoramic views of the old medina from above, particularly captivating at sunset. Overnight accommodation is provided.
After an early breakfast, we begin our journey from Fez towards the vibrant city of Marrakech. Our route will take us through diverse Moroccan landscapes, including a pass through Ifrane, a unique winter ski resort built by the French in the 1930s. The journey will include some picturesque stops along the way, allowing you to appreciate the changing scenery. We expect to reach Marrakech in the evening. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to take an initial walk through the legendary Djemaa El Fna Square, where you will be captivated by the mesmerizing spectacle of dancers, skilled snake-charmers, and engaging narrators. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your hotel or Riad in Marrakech.
After breakfast, today is dedicated to a full-day guided tour of Marrakech. Your comprehensive visit will include: the serene Menara Gardens, featuring its magnificent pool enveloped by vibrant flowers; the iconic Koutoubia Minaret; the historical Saadian Tombs; the Dar Si Said Museum, showcasing the finest display of Berber arts and crafts; and the opulent Bahia Palace. Lunch will be savored at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will embark on a walk through the colorful and bustling Souks of Marrakech, a sensory delight where you can discover unique treasures. The day will conclude with a refreshing sunset drink offering panoramic views over the lively Djemaa El Fna square, allowing you to absorb its unique energy as night falls. Dinner and overnight accommodation are included.
Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule and departure point preference, a private transfer will be arranged to either Marrakech Menara Airport or Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, marking the conclusion of your memorable Imperial Cities tour.
