Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

Upon your arrival in Tangier, typically via ferry, our professional driver will be awaiting your collection. We commence the day with a brief visit to the key highlights of Tangier city. Following this introduction, our journey will proceed towards Chefchaouen, Morocco's renowned "Blue City," nestled within the captivating Rif Mountains. Along the route, we will make several strategic stops, allowing you to absorb the tranquil ambiance and scenic vistas of the Rif region. The evening concludes with dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at your pre-arranged hotel or Riad in Chefchaouen.

Day 2 : Chefchaouen - Fez

The morning is dedicated to an immersive half-day exploration of Chefchaouen's iconic Blue Medina. You will have ample time to wander through its charming souks, observe local artisans in the silk and wool weaving quarters, and relax at one of the cafes in the main square. Following a break for lunch, we will depart for Fez, recognized as the spiritual capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. Upon arrival in Fez, you will check into your hotel, where dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fez - Ifrane - Middle Atlas - Medilt - Merzouga

After an early breakfast, our expedition continues southward. Our first significant stop will be in Ifrane, where you will have the opportunity for a brief photo stop amidst its unique alpine architecture. We then proceed to Azrou, entering the expansive cedar forest, home to the region's indigenous monkey population. The journey continues to Midelt, a significant Berber village, where a lunch break will be provided at a local restaurant.

The afternoon drive is marked by stunning landscapes as we traverse the Tizi N Talghamt pass and arrive in Errachidia, with picturesque stops to admire the Ziz gorges and the verdant Ziz Oasis. Our final destination for the day is Merzouga, reached after passing through Aoufous, Erfoud (renowned for its fossil discoveries), and Rissani (celebrated for its dates). Upon arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon, you will be welcomed with traditional mint tea. Subsequently, your guide and camels will be ready to escort you on a captivating trek across the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Experience the breathtaking beauty of a Sahara sunset from atop your camel. After approximately one hour, we will arrive at our desert camp. The evening promises an authentic cultural experience with local melodies played on Saharan drums, followed by an unparalleled opportunity for stargazing. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in a comfortable desert tent.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Fez

Embrace an early start to witness a truly magical Sahara sunrise, a spectacle unfolding just behind the Algerian border, approximately 50 kilometers from Merzouga. Following this awe-inspiring experience, we will return to your hotel via camel trek for a refreshing shower and a moment of rest. Subsequently, we will begin our return journey to Fez, making a brief yet informative visit to Rissani, recognized as the historical first capital of the Alaouite dynasty. We anticipate arriving in Fez in the evening, where you will enjoy dinner and another overnight stay.

Day 5: Fez "Half day Tour" - Tangier

Following breakfast at your hotel in Fez, you will embark on a comprehensive half-day guided tour of this cultural capital. Your walking tour will navigate the labyrinthine narrow streets of the ancient Medina, one of the world's largest continuously inhabited medieval cities. Highlights of this exploration include visits to the esteemed Quaraouiyine Mosque (founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri) and the Andalusian Mosque, the ornate Nejjarine Fountain, historical Medersas, and the Batha Palace, now a museum dedicated to arts and traditions. You will also experience the vibrant Chouwara Tanneries and the aromatic Souk Attarine. After a break for lunch, you will be transferred back to Tangier, concluding your extraordinary Moroccan journey with drop-off at the Port.
